You can create a custom shortcut in Component Designer by adding a shortcut resource to your component.
If you create a separate component for your shortcut, you must make your shortcut component dependent on the component that has the executable file.
To create a custom shortcut in Component Designer
- In Component Designer, open your component.
- Expand the component node in which you want to create a shortcut.
- Right-click Resources and choose Add, and then Shortcut. The Add Component Resources window appears.
- Type a name for the shortcut.
- In the Extended properties section, type the values for the following properties: DstName, DstPath, TargetPath, Overwrite, WindowStyle. - For additional information about these properties, see Start Menu Shortcuts.
- To add the shortcut to the component, choose Add. To close the Add Component Resource window, choose Cancel.
- Save the component and import it to the database.
