st_geomfromewkb function

Parses the Extended WKB (EWKB) description of a geometry and returns the corresponding GEOMETRY value. The SRID value of the returned GEOMETRY value is the one prescribed in the EWKB description, or 0 if there is no SRID value in the EWKB description.

Syntax

st_geomfromewkb ( ewkbExpr )

Arguments

  • ewkbExpr: A BINARY value, representing a geometry in Extended WKB (EWKB) format.

Returns

A value of type GEOMETRY(ANY), corresponding to the input Extended WKB (EWKB) description.

The function returns NULL if the input is NULL.

Error conditions

  • If the value of ewkbExpr is an invalid Extended WKB (EWKB) description, the function returns EWKB_PARSE_ERROR.
