st_asewkt function

Applies to: Databricks SQL Databricks Runtime 17.1 and above

Returns the input GEOGRAPHY or GEOMETRY value in Extended WKT (EWKT) format.

Syntax

st_asbinary ( geoExpr )

Arguments

• geoExpr: A GEOGRAPHY or GEOMETRY value.

Returns

A value of type STRING. The returned value is the Extended WKT (EWKT) description of the input GEOGRAPHY or GEOMETRY value.

The function returns NULL if the input is NULL.

Examples

-- Export a 3DZ Cartesian point, given in GeoJSON format, in EWKT format.
> SELECT st_asewkt(st_geomfromgeojson('{"type":"Point","coordinates":[2.718281828,3.141592653,100]}'));
  SRID=4326;POINT Z (2.718281828 3.141592653 100)
