To set up Fabric Capacity-specific workload logging in Log Analytics using Capacity Diagnostic Settings, follow these steps:

Steps to Enable Workload Logging in Microsoft Fabric Capacity

Navigate to Diagnostic Settings

• Open Azure Portal → Microsoft Fabric Capacity.
• Go to Monitoring → Diagnostic Settings.

Enable Additional Logging Categories

• By default, only Administrative, Security, ServiceHealth, Alert, Recommendation, Policy, Autoscale, and ResourceHealth logs are available.
• To enable CapacityMetrics, WarehouseQueryLogs, ActivityLogs, PipelineRuns, follow these steps:
  • Click Add Diagnostic Setting.
  • Select Log Analytics Workspace as the destination.
  • Choose Capacity-specific metrics (if available).
  • Save the settings.

Verify Log Collection in Log Analytics

• Open Azure Monitor → Log Analytics Workspace.
• Run a query to check if logs are being collected:

  
       FabricCapacityMetrics
  
       | where TimeGenerated > ago(1h)
  
  

Use Microsoft Fabric Metrics App (Optional)

• If CapacityMetrics are not available in Diagnostic Settings, use the Fabric Capacity Metrics App to track workload usage.
