How can I determine customer data location?

Viva Pulse research-backed templates and customized templates are stored in Azure Cosmos DB in West US or EU depending on the tenant’s hosting location.

How long is my Viva Pulse data stored for?

Viva Pulse research-backed templates and customized templates are stored in Azure Cosmos DB in West US or EU depending on the tenant’s hosting location. This data is held indefinitely as long as the tenant maintains an active Pulse subscription or till the tenant chooses to delete their data. Until September 1, 2025, Pulse instances authored in Viva Pulse were stored in Microsoft Forms, along with all the responses to the Pulse. Data in Microsoft Forms was deleted immediately if the Pulse request closes with less than minimum response threshold for report generation. If the Pulse request closed with the report being successfully generated, we will hold the corresponding Forms data indefinitely as long as the tenant maintains an active Pulse subscription or till the tenant chooses to delete their data.
