Exercise - Generate a single webpage using Copilot

In this exercise, you'll generate a new page for your Microsoft Power Pages website using Copilot. You'll also add existing Dataverse data to the page. After completing the steps, you'll publish the site.

Generate a new webpage

  1. Sign in to your Power Pages environment.

  2. On the Home page, under Active sites, locate the Contoso Real Estate site you previously created and select Edit.

  3. In the Power Pages design studio, select Pages in the left pane.

  4. Open the Copilot chat window and enter: Create a new page for scheduling a real estate property showing.

  5. After the page is generated, review it and select Keep it.

  6. Add a title banner similar to the Contact Us and Property Listings pages.

  7. Delete all sections after the title banner.

  8. Use Copilot to add a section by typing: Add a section with a one third left layout.

  9. Use Copilot to generate a title and descriptive paragraph for the section:

    • Title prompt: A catchy title for scheduling a property showing
    • Paragraph prompt: Describe the benefits of scheduling a real estate showing

  10. Add a Form component to the section manually:

    • Select + New Form under Other ways to get started.

  11. Use the Real Estate Showings table created in a previous module. This links the form to the existing approval flow.

    On the Add a form pane under the Form tab:

    • Choose a table: Real Estate Showings
    • Select a form: Information
    • Name your form: Information - Website
  12. Under the On submit tab:

    • When the form is submitted: Display a message
    • Display this message: Thank you for scheduling a property showing. We will be in touch shortly.

    Select OK.

  13. Configure permissions:

    • Select + New permission
    • Name: Real Estate Showings (Website)
    • Table: Real Estate Showings
    • Access type: Global Access
    • Permissions to: Create
    • Roles: Anonymous users and Authenticated users

    Select Save.

    Users can now submit property showing requests via your website.

    Note

    You can configure form fields in multiple ways depending on your requirements. For more information, refer to the Forms in Power Pages documentation.

Organize the site's main navigation

  1. In the Power Pages design studio, select Pages in the left pane.

  2. Under Main navigation, hover over the Services page, select the ellipsis (...), and choose Move up until it appears below About Us.

  3. Repeat the process to move the Property Listings page below Services, and the Schedule Showing page below Property Listings.

    Note

    The Schedule Showing page may appear under a different name depending on how Copilot generated it.

  4. Hover over the Schedule Showing page, select the ellipsis (...), and choose Make this a subpage.

  5. Select Preview to view the updated site navigation.

Set the site's visibility to public

  1. In the Power Pages design studio, select Security in the left pane.

  2. Under Manage, select Site visibility.

  3. Choose Public and confirm by selecting Set to public.

    Once public, select Preview and copy the site URL to share.
