Data Sources (Role Designer) (Analysis Services - Multidimensional Data)

Use the Data Sources page of Role Designer to specify the access settings that the role has to data sources defined in the database.

Options

• Data Source Name
  Displays the name of the data source.

• Access
  Selects the access level for the selected data source in this role. The following table lists the available access levels.

  Value	Description
  None	Users will be unable to access information from the data source.
  Read	Users will be able to read information from the data source.

• Read Definition
  Grants users who are in this role permission to read metadata for the data source.

  Note

  This option is selected but not available if the Read definition option is selected on the General page of Role Designer.
