Text Box Properties Dialog Box, General

Select General on the Text Box Properties dialog box to change the default name, value, and sizing options of the text box.

Options

  • Name
    Type a name for the item. The name must be unique within the report. By default, a general name is assigned, such as Textbox1 or Textbox2.

  • Value
    Type the value of the text box. This can be a field expression, other expression, or a label. Click the Expression (fx) button to edit the expression.

  • Tooltip
    Type text or an expression that evaluates to a ToolTip. Click the Expression (fx) button to edit the expression. The ToolTip appears when the user pauses the pointer over the item in an HTML report.

  • Allow height to increase
    Choose this option to allow the text box to grow to accommodate the value displayed in the text box.

  • Allow height to decrease
    Choose this option to allow the text box to shrink to fit the value displayed in the text box.
