Linear Pointer Properties Dialog Box, Pointer Options (Report Builder 2.0)

Select Pointer Options on the Linear Pointer dialog box to define data and appearance options for the linear pointer.

Options

  • Value
    Select an aggregate field or type an expression for the value of the pointer.

  • Pointer type
    Select the type of pointer.

    • Needle   Displays the pointer as a needle.

    • Marker   Displays the pointer as a marker shape.

    • Bar   Displays the pointer as a bar.

  • Needle style
    Select the visual style of the needle. Only applicable when Pointer type is Needle.

  • Marker style
    Select the visual style of the marker. Only applicable when Pointer type is Marker.

  • Bar style
    Select the bar style of the marker. Only applicable when Pointer type is Bar.

  • Placement relative to scale
    Select the placement of the pointer end in relation to the scale:

    • Inside   Display the pointer end inside the scale on a gauge.

    • Outside   Display the pointer end outside the scale on a gauge.

    • Cross   Display the pointer end so that it crosses the scale.

  • Distance from scale
    Type a value or expression that represents the distance of the range label from the scale, measured as a percentage of gauge width or height, whichever one is greater.

  • Width
    Type a value or expression that represents the width of the pointer.

  • Length
    Type a value or expression that represents the length of the bar pointer. Only applicable when Pointer type is Bar.
