Default Exchange Store Namespaces

The Exchange store defines and reserves the namespaces listed in the following table. These namespaces can be used in property names.

| Definitions for data types used when creating schema items. | |
| Definitions for Exchange-specific data types used for Exchange store properties. | |
| Definitions for XML namespaces that incorporate dynamic data typing and binding. | |
| Properties specific to Microsoft Office files. | |
| Properties used for calendaring. The following properties are also available for Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) calendar objects: Appointment CoClass, CalendarMessage CoClass, and Addressee CoClass. | |
| Properties for managing contacts. Several properties are also available for the CDO Person CoClass object. | |
| Fields used to create and process the body of a message. For fields in the header of a message, use the mail header namespace. | |
| Standard mail header properties for messages. Several properties are also available for the CDO Message CoClass object. | 
When adding your own properties to items, you use your own namespace Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) in the property name to make each one unique.
