ICoreImmersiveApplication::CreateNewView method

Creates a new view in the application.

Syntax

HRESULT CreateNewView(
  [in]                    HSTRING              runtimeType,
  [in]                    HSTRING              content,
  [out, retval, optional] ICoreApplicationView **view
);

Parameters

  • runtimeType [in]
    Type: HSTRING

    A framework type used for creating a view.

  • content [in]
    Type: HSTRING

    A string used by UI frameworks to understand additional information about the view created. It can be a class name in the application code in case of WinRT UI applications.

  • view [out, retval, optional]
    Type: ICoreApplicationView**

    The view created by this call.

Return value

Type: HRESULT

If this method succeeds, it returns S_OK. Otherwise, it returns an HRESULT error code. If the main view or window has closed, returns E_ILLEGAL_METHOD_CALL.
