This feature safeguards data integrity in sustainability reporting by preventing changes to the Emissions Unit of Measure after you create entries. It helps prevent unit mismatches in the Sustainability Ledger and ensures consistent and reliable emissions tracking across all accounts and periods.
Feature details
To maintain consistency in environmental data, Business Central restricts changes to the Emissions Unit of Measure field on the Sustainability Setup page after entries exist in the Sustainability Ledger. This prevents accidental or intentional changes that could compromise emissions calculations or audit compliance. Previously, you could modify this field at any time, risking mixed units across ledger entries and reports.
We recommend that you finalize your unit of measure during initial configuration to ensure consistent reporting.
This change supports better governance and aligns with best practices for environmental data management.
