Learning how to use Business Central is easier than ever. Now, you can get more information about a field with just one click. Copilot helps you find valuable field-specific information from Microsoft Learn without any searching. By connecting Business Central with our extensive Learn content, we make it simpler for new customers and partners to learn how to use Business Central. Copilot is the AI-powered assistant that boosts creativity and productivity for Business Central users.
Feature details
The Copilot-powered chat feature in Business Central transforms how people learn and interact with the product. Copilot explains Business Central concepts and guides you through tasks by using Business Central's extensive online documentation. With Copilot, you spend less time getting unblocked or building your Business Central knowledge.
Start the Copilot experience by asking a question in the chat or by using an action. One action is to select a link in a tooltip. Currently, the Learn more link in a tooltip opens the Help pane and shows page-level help. In this release, an Ask Copilot link replaces the Learn more link. When you select Ask Copilot, the Copilot chat pane opens and automatically sends a message that asks about the meaning of the field. With this feature, field-specific help is just one click away. You can more easily understand the value and impact of fields and settings.
By using Copilot's ability to understand and process large volumes of text, you get summaries, key paragraphs, and links that help you understand the field. Copilot can gather information from several learning articles. This feature greatly reduces the time you spend searching for information. As a result, you can set up Business Central and implement solutions more quickly because learning is just one click away.
Currently, you can trigger the Copilot chat functionality from tooltips only for fields that are native to Business Central. This functionality doesn't support fields that third-party apps add.
Note
- You can use this feature as a production-ready preview for production and sandbox environments in countries where Copilot Chat is available. Production-ready previews are subject to supplemental terms of use. For more information, see Supplemental terms of use for Dynamics 365 previews.
- Chat is available only in English. Make sure your user language is set to English in My Settings.
- AI-generated content can be incorrect.
- Chat with Copilot starts rolling out to US customers with Update 24.0, then proceeds to other regions.
