Business value
Using Power Automate to build flows is already relatively easy, but from time to time, makers run into a common element of a process: querying Business Central for a single record that matches certain criteria.
Feature details
Currently, the Find records action always returns a collection or list of records, even if only one record matches specific criteria, such as a unique record ID. To use this action, Power Automate makers need to understand the syntax of the OData query.
With the new Find one record action, makers can find a single record that matches their criteria. The action provides a more user-friendly interface for entering parameters and defining conditions.
Makers can select several conditions for various fields in the requested API. They can add sorting conditions to find the correct record. The Power Automate connector transforms these settings into an OData query.
When you find a single record, all subsequent actions in the flow can work on that record without needing the Apply to each loop.
Note
You can use this feature only in Business Central online. However, because the feature is in the Power Platform connector, it works with all supported versions of Business Central.
