Allow customers to consent to Microsoft Support accessing their data

Enabled for Public preview General availability
Users by admins, makers, or analysts - May 15, 2024

Business value

Customers can meet their data privacy requirements and get support from Microsoft by giving their explicit consent.

Feature details

In the Power Platform admin center, administrators can create lockbox policies that apply to Power Platform and Dynamics 365 environments. With these policies, customers review and approve or reject access requests from Microsoft engineers. Access requests come from Microsoft engineers when they respond to a customer-initiated support ticket or to a problem Microsoft identifies. With 2024 release wave 1, you can also apply lockbox policies in the Power Platform admin center to Business Central environments.

When customers enable lockbox on their Microsoft Entra tenant, they can:

  • Increase the security and privacy of their data in the cloud.
  • Get more visibility and control over who accesses their data and the purposes for access.
  • Comply with regulatory or organizational requirements for data access governance.
