Hi All,

I am trying to prevent any preview updates fron showing as available in Widows udpate. I am not in the Windows Insider Program. This is a fresh install of Windows 11 24H2. When I open Windows Update it shows as follows

Preview Update (KB5067036)(26100.7019) is available. Download & install

I want this and all future optional updates that are preview not to be shown. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Gerry. Since you’re not enrolled in the Insider Program, you can manage this by going to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options, then turning off the toggle for “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available.” This will stop preview (non-security) updates from being offered automatically.

If you’d like more control, you can also use the Group Policy Editor: navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Manage end user experience, and enable “Do not include drivers with Windows Updates” and “Select when Preview Builds and Feature Updates are received.” Setting the update channel to Current Branch for Business will ensure you only receive fully released updates.

I hope it will be usefull.

Hi there. Thanks for the input. That option isnt available in the Windows Update GUI as i'm using the Windows 11 24H2 market place image. Also that option in gpedit isnt avilable either.
