Outlook is not syncing after being asked to create an outlook email address.

When signing into office 365 I was asked to add an Outlook email address. After doing so, I cannot see any recent emails in my inbox. The most recent are from 2015. Everything is fine on my phone. I believe I’m signed into the wrong account but I’m not sure.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Are you using Outlook New for Windows, Outlook Classic, or the Outlook app on your phone?

If you’re using Outlook New for Windows, try this:

    • Click the Settings (gear icon) in the top-right corner.
    • Go to the Account tab.
    • Under Your accounts, check which email address is currently signed in.

If it’s different from the one you use on your phone, that’s likely why you’re not seeing your recent emails.

But if it’s the same, it might just be a sync issue. In that case, try selecting Sync now (if available) or restarting Outlook to refresh your mailbox.

Could you check which Outlook version you’re using and what you find under “Your accounts”?
