OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 Pro

Version 10.0.26200 Build 26200

Other OS Description Not Available

OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation

System Manufacturer HP

System Model HP ZBook 8 G1i 14 inch Mobile Workstation PC

System Type x64-based PC

System SKU A3ZT0ET#ABT

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 255H, 2000 Mhz, 16 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)

BIOS Version/Date HP X70 Ver. 01.02.04, 12/08/2025

Docking station is connected via the two thunderbolt ports, in-turn connected to two displays.

MacBook works with the docking station just fine.

Have set the settings Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\System Settings to Do nothing on both battery and plugged modes.

Still, if I open the lid, both displays work. If I close the lid only the main display keeps working, the other shuts off.

Issue was "resolved" by resetting windows. However, I can't really not install anything and install no updates, so this is just a temporary solution but clearly indicates that the issue is with windows are something else that was installed. If anyone one has any clue would be great

Hi Eliyahu, Thanks for posting here in Microsoft Community. Since your power settings are correctly set to “Do nothing” and the issue only happens after closing the lid, it does sound like a Windows or driver-level conflict especially since a reset temporarily fixed it.

I suggest, try updating or reinstalling the graphics drivers (both Intel and any discrete GPU if present).

Also check HP’s support site for any firmware or docking station updates.

If the MacBook works fine with the same dock, it’s likely not a hardware issue.

Also, have you noticed if the display shuts off only after a specific Windows update or driver installation?

Let me know how it goes.

    Chard
