Using Services set following services to Automatic and restarted services

Toggle Fast startup off tried update did not work

made sure .NET 3.5 was enabled and .NET 4.8

Turn of Secure boot in BIOS

Tried update again and it failed

Reinstalled windows 11 using Windows Update>Advance Options>Recovery>Fix Problems using Windows Update

Tried update again and it failed

Contacted Microsoft Support and Reinstalled Windows 11 using mounted ISO from Microsoft

it updated several times after this reinstall but when it got to this Preview Update KB5067036 it failed

and they closed my case without a resolution

Computer is running slow and keeps glitching

Photo app does not function correctly missing arrows and freezes occasionally

website not loading all content on page

website loosing connection and have to log back in

CPU is between 12 and 40 percent all the time never idles

NVME M.2 SSD running at 10-30% all the time

Computer is always warm and CPU fans runs all the time

Get help app keeps freezing and never received a second call back

If any one has been having this issue over the past couple of weeks please reply to this with anything else you may of tried.

Also if anyone else is having same problem try your best to get a hold of Microsoft because I do not think any user can fix this problem I believe the problem is the update itself.

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

KB5067036 is a "Preview" update, essentially a beta version of the update scheduled for release next month. Preview updates are optional and may include experimental fixes or features. Because they haven't undergone full testing, they can sometimes be unstable or fail to install properly.

Importantly, you're not required to install preview updates, and skipping them won't expose your system to any security risks.

If KB5067036 continues to fail during installation, you can prevent Windows from attempting to install it by doing the following:

    1. Press "Windows + I" and select "Windows Update";
    2. Toggle off "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available";
    3. Restart your PC.

This will stop Windows from downloading optional updates like previews, and your system will only receive standard monthly updates going forward.

Since the other problems you mentioned may be caused by the system repeatedly trying to install this update, I suggest checking if the problems stop occurring after doing this. If any persist, please let me know.

Feel free to ask back any questions.

    Thanks for the clarifications.

Many factors can cause the error you are getting. To avoid a long answer, I will suggest a few procedures. If these do not work, there are other methods.

    I suggest doing the following:

Run the Windows Update troubleshooter and try to install the update.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-update-troubleshooter-19bc41ca-ad72-ae67-af3c-89ce169755dd#WindowsVersion=Windows_11

If it persists, rename the software distribution folders as instructed below:

    1. Open Start and type cmd, right-click on "Command Prompt", and select "Run as administrator".
    2. Run the following commands at the Command Prompt one at a time:
    net stop bits
    net stop wuauserv
    net stop cryptsvc
    ren %systemroot%\softwaredistribution softwaredistribution.bak
    ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.bak
    net start bits
    net start wuauserv
    net start cryptsvc

    1. After all these commands are completed, close the Command Prompt window, restart your computer, and then try to update Windows.

If it persists, download and install the update that is having problems manually.

Download the installation package from the link below.

If the problem persists, please let me know, and I will provide another method.

Sorry for the delay in reply. I've been offline.

    Thanks for the details.

In addition to what Ramesh Srinivasan suggested, I suggest doing the following:

Perform a clean boot to see if any third-party programs in the background are preventing Windows from updating. Follow the instructions carefully.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd#ID0EBBD=Windows_11

After updating, or if this doesn't help, return to normal boot as instructed in "Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting".

    Let me know the result.

Feel free to ask back any questions.
