I am using Microsoft Clarity to capture data for our application. There is a user Impersonated user. We are able to see the live sessions of the user but they don't get saved. Any reason? How do I differentiate these users

    Hi @NehaSingh,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum, and thank you very much for reaching out to us.

Please note that as a Microsoft Q&A moderator, I do not have access to your tenant, and my testing environment is limited. However, rest assured that I will assist you as much as possible using available documentation and research.

Based on your description, could you confirm whether you are using Microsoft Clarity on SharePoint to capture data?

From my research, session recordings in Clarity are reconstructed from HTML and user interactions rather than actual video. If an impersonated session has minimal engagement or ends abruptly, it may not meet the criteria for being saved.User's image

To differentiate, I found a Microsoft Article that explains how to track user identities through Clarity, which can help distinguish impersonated sessions.

When Clarity is configured for Single sign-on (SSO) with Microsoft Entra ID, users signing in through Entra ID have their identities linked to Clarity sessions. This makes it easier to identify and separate impersonated users from regular sessions.

Additionally, I found a thread that explains how to retrieve Clarity data using PowerShell with PnP Online. Feel free to check it out to see if it is able to assist you further.

Thank you very much for your time. If you have any updates or need further clarification, feel free to let me know. I would love to assist you further.
