Mysql Flexible Server is Stuck updating and I can't stop or start it.

I am having a bunch of issue with a flexible severe where I can't connect to it and I tried scaling it to a higher size. It is just stuck updating and I can't stop or start it. It's been close to an hour now.

Sometimes Flexible Servers get stuck during scaling or maintenance. First, check the Activity Log and portal notifications—updates can take a while. You can try forcing a restart via CLI:
az mysql flexible-server restart --name <server-name> --resource-group <rg-name>If it stays stuck for more than ~2 hours, open a support ticket—Azure can manually unlock the server safely. Avoid making other changes until it clears.

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft QA! If your Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server is stuck, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check Server Status via CLI
bashaz postgres flexible-server show --name <server-name> --resource-group <resource-group>Look for the state property to confirm the current status.
- Attempt a Manual Restart
bashaz postgres flexible-server restart --name <server-name> --resource-group <resource-group>- Inspect for Resource Locks
bashaz resource lock list --resource-name <server-name> --resource-group <resource-group> --resource-type "Microsoft.DBforPostgreSQL/flexibleServers"If locks are found, remove them:
bashaz resource lock delete --ids <lock-id>- Scale Up Temporarily (if resource exhaustion is suspected)
bashaz postgres flexible-server update --name <server-name> --resource-group <resource-group> --sku-name GP_Gen5_4- Check for Blocking Queries Once the server is responsive, connect via psql and run:
sqlSELECT pid, state, query FROM pg_stat_activity WHERE state != 'idle';SELECT pg_terminate_backend(pid) FROM pg_stat_activity WHERE state != 'idle';- Review Azure Monitor Logs Use Azure Monitor to check for errors or blockers that may be affecting server operations.
- Confirm Platform Health Visit Azure Status to ensure there are no ongoing outages in your region.
