I've been trying out to reset an account password for days now. The account has 2FA enabled and i have access to both linked email and phone number. However when i try to reset the password the phone number method doesn't work. i get prompted with "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method.". The only remaining way is to use the backup email. I first i get sent a code which i receive and input in to the form. But then again a second step requires another code verification. And if i try to use the same backup email address i get prompted with "You've requested too many codes today. Please try again tomorrow."

I also tried using the recovery form but having 2FA enabled i get this answer "Because you've turned on two-step verification for your account, we ignore these requests but wanted to let you know."

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

The error message: "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method." This is an indication that your account is temporarily blocked from resetting your password due to unusual activity.

Please try to perform these steps to resolve an account block:

    1. Kindly try using different devices and network services to reset your password.
    2. Wait 24 hours, but please make sure not to reset the password within that timeframe, as this may reset the cooldown.

If it doesn't work after 24 hours, try waiting exactly 48 hours before resetting the password again.

Lastly, I suggest checking the official Microsoft article regarding account blocks, particularly the "I see a Try another verification method message" part: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/troubleshooting-verification-code-issues-409090c4-92b5-42b9-8ae6-bcc97e62fc48#:~:text=If%20you%20received%20a%20Microsoft%20verification%20code%20that%20you%20did#:~:text=If%20you%20received%20a%20Microsoft%20verification%20code%20that%20you%20did

Thank you for your understanding! Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl
