Inside forums many users report that image uploads work (or worked) only for personal accounts or consumer version of Copilot, but not always for enterprise/work accounts. For example: “In Copilot (for work), I cannot upload an image … it says this file format is not supported.” So if you’re using a corporate-managed Microsoft 365 account, uploads may be disabled by policy, licensing, or the particular “Copilot for Work” version.

My Copilot chat is not accepting images. The error message "An error occurred while uploading your file. Please try again" displays whenever I drag and drop or copy and paste an image on Copilot chat for search

Which Copilot version you’re using, Copilot in Edge, Windows, or Microsoft 365?
Only Copilot in Edge allows image input, while Copilot in Windows or 365 might not support it yet or could be restricted by your organization. Make sure your browser or Windows is updated.
