I want to upgrade my laptop from Windows 10 to 11 since support has ceased for Windows 10. However, the automatic upgrade tool will not accept my CPU which is an Intel Core i7-4710HQ CUP @ 2.50GHz. Is there any way that I can upgrade given my CPU or should this be avoided?

    Hi TJ Garland,

Your CPU (Intel Core i7-4710HQ) is not on the list of supported processors for Windows 11, and Microsoft does not recommend bypassing the CPU check either. There are also unofficial workarounds to bypass it. Of course, you can technically force an upgrade, but it comes with risks, such as no guarantee of updates, possible instability, and unsupported status. The safer way is to remain on Windows 10 with Extended Security Updates (ESU) or move to new hardware that meets Windows 11 requirements.

If you find this information useful to some extent, please accept the answer so that your experience with the issue would help contribute to the whole community. Thank you :)
