Concern over loss of data from running out of space on onedrive

Hello,

I have a dire problem. I ran out of space on onedrive. I usually save my stuff in My Documents, and was unaware that it syncs with the cloud. Would I loss the data that I saved, if I saved it after onedrive filed up with space? I thought I was just saving it to my hard drive. Is there a place on my hard drive to find my updated data? Does it not save that data (i.e. only saves to the cloud and I do not have a copy of saved content)? Is there a way to get this updated data or is it lost?

I should also note that my windows explorer typically freezes after trying to use anything on My Documents.

Thank you a bunch for helping me!

They should be in the Documents folder as the full document if they did not sync up.

Did you try moving documents in the OneDrive folder to a folder that is outside OneDrive?

Open File Explorer (the icon is a yellow manilla folder). Look in the OneDrive folder on the left - unless you saved the files in another folder, they should be in Documents. If the sync status does not have a cloud icon, you can move it to a folder that is not in OneDrive. The original Documents folder is under C:\Users%username%\Documents - you can move the files there.
