Hi LARRY,
I have to tell you BitLocker key is designed to protect data from unauthorized access, the 48-digit recovery key is essential for unlocking the drive. Unfortunately, without this key, it’s not possible to decrypt or recover the data, even with hardware replacements.
If your computer was set up by an IT administrator, I’d recommend contacting your organization’s IT department to check if the BitLocker recovery key was stored in their Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) or Active Directory records. In some cases, it may also have been saved to your Microsoft account, a printed document, or a USB drive provided during initial setup, it’s worth checking all possible storage locations.
If none of these options are available, I’m afraid Microsoft cannot bypass or regenerate a lost BitLocker key for security reasons. When you're back in, make sure to keep your recovery key in a few safe spots to prevent this from happening again 😊
