please find Step-by-Step Troubleshooting (Azure Bot Service)

1.Check that your bot is running

Go to your Azure Portal → find your Webstore-ChatBot resource.

Open the “Bot Management” → Test in Web Chat tab.

If it says “Something went wrong” or just doesn’t reply, your bot might not be running or responding correctly.

2**.Check your bot’s App Service**

If your bot uses an App Service (most do):

Go to App Service → Overview → Browse — does the bot’s web endpoint load (should be a web page or say “Your bot is ready!”)?

1. If not:

Go to App Service → Logs and check for errors.

• Try Restarting the App Service.

3.Verify your bot’s endpoint in Azure

Go to Bot Channels Registration → Configuration.

Look at the Messaging endpoint (e.g. https://yourbot.azurewebsites.net/api/messages).

Visit that URL in a browser — it should at least load (you might see “Method not allowed,” which is fine).

If you get a 404, 500, or timeout, the endpoint is broken or misconfigured.

4.Check the bot code / logic

If you built the bot in Bot Framework Composer or uploaded code:

Make sure your bot is actually responding to messages.

• Add a simple “echo” response to confirm

5.Inspect Web Chat Console

If “Test in Web Chat” opens but shows nothing:

Right-click → “Inspect” → open Console.

See if there are any red errors (like CORS, token issues, or 401/500 errors).

Common cause: the bot’s Microsoft App ID or password is missing or mismatched.

6.Check App Settings in Azure

In your App Service → Configuration → Application Settings, make sure you have:

MicrosoftAppId = (same as Bot Channels Registration App ID)

MicrosoftAppPassword = (client secret you created in Azure AD)

Restart the App Service after fixing them.

7.If it’s a Power Virtual Agent bot

Go to Power Virtual Agents → your bot → Test your bot.

If it doesn’t respond there either, check Topics and Trigger Phrases — it might not recognize your message.
