How do I add a subscription to my Visual Studio linked tenant so I can access Purview Protection

I've got a Visual Studio subscription and have a dev tenant linked to this as have been developing around the Purview sensitivity labels and when writing labels it appears that the protection settings are not being written, a file labelled using the Powershell commandlets is 130KB compared to 14KB for the C# MIP SDK labelled file.

Given the labels in Purview won't allow me to select encryption settings and going to the Protection Policies page says I need to add a PAYG subscription I tried. But under the Azure Subscriptions it says the tenant isn't eligible for any of the subscriptions.

So how do I get access to the Protection Policies so I can try and use the Protection Engine to apply the appropriate templates.

    Hey there, Andy Watson

When you sign into the Azure portal here: https://portal.azure.com

Please can you go to 'Cost Management + Billing' (You may need to search for this in the search bar).

    User's image

Once you have clicked onto this service, it will load the service on the portal. Please scroll down to your subscriptions and click onto the Visual Studio subscription.

    User's image

This will load the subscription for you. You should have an option to change directory.

I can't show you mine as mine has been disabled due to the subscription expiring.

    Hope this helps,
    Nathan
