If I have to install window 11 I would like to install version 24h2 or any earlier version with the least AI possible and definitely no copilot - I have found in my business AI in all its current forms to be damaging and not up to the speed of where we actually work it is limiting can give false and dangerous information and restricts pure research it certainly does not replace humans - can someone inform me how I may install the 24H2 version not the 25h2 version . if we have to go to version 25 h2 then we have to wipe Microsoft across the entire business platform cancel all the accounts and move to a Linux based platform which is also not ideal

    Hi Tara,

Thank you for sharing your concerns.

To upgrade to 24H2 version we have a few options:

Use Windows Update / WSUS / Windows Update for Business to deploy 24H2.

    Upgrade using ISO 24H2

Regarding to your another question about 25H2 version which was released officially, if you install 24H2 now, sooner or later devices may be automatically offered 25H2 but don't worry you still able to block it. About AI features, you can manage this proactively by using Group Policy or MDM to disable AI features such as copilot,.... Here is for your references: Updated Windows and Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat experience and Group Policy processing

In your case, I recommend checking first the "msinfo32" output to verify hardware compatibility (TPM, Secure Boot, CPU generation, etc) or use the PC Health Check tool (or equivalent) to confirm whether the device is eligible for windows 11 24h2 update. Then if you are managing the large number of devices in a business environment, using WSUS or windows update for business is the best approach to deploy updates (Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) overview). Don't forget to block the 25H2 rollout and applies policy to disable AI features as mentioned above.

    Hope this helps!

If you're set on not going to 25H2 or anything higher than 24H2, you should remove Microsoft from your business. Windows 11 24H2 Pro and Home versions have an end of life 1 year from now.

If you're on Enterprise versions, they get an extra year and go end of life at October 2027.

This seems like a knee-jerk reaction to AI and Microsoft OS specifically instead of learning how to figure out how to use AI appropriately (with or without Copilot paid licences). AI is not an 'end all, be all' solution, but rather a very good way to help achieve better results (with human checking) in less time. It does not replace humans, but it can and does make them more efficient at doing specific tasks (again, with human oversight).
