Dear Shokri, Muhammad Zulhusni
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum!
I'm so sorry to hear about this frustrating snag with your important audit recording. The incident is due to a security protocol conflict where FinalCode, a security application, abruptly interrupted the Snipping Tool, leaving the video file incomplete and un-finalized (which is why it appears "unsupported/corrupted").
In the meantime, you can consider my suggestions and please let me know anything new from it:
- Press Win + R, type
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.ScreenSketch_8wekyb3d8bbwe\TempState\Recordings> hit Enter > Look for any .mp4 or temp video files (sort by date modified around your recording time) > Right-click the file or its folder > Properties > Previous Versions tab. If available, select a version before the issue and click Restore. This pulls from Windows' built-in backups. - Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps > search "Snipping Tool" click the three dots > Advanced options > Repair (then Reset if needed).
Notes/Warnings: Always back up important files before driver changes.
