In the Microsoft Advertiser verification process, it's mentioned that Website Docs are optional.

However, when I try to verify my account, it shows mandatory documents. Can anyone give clarity on that?

    Hello Krishn Begrai,

Thank you for using our Microsoft Advertising Learn Q&A Platform!

Thanks for bringing this up and sharing the link. You're absolutely right to notice the discrepancy — the post you referenced is slightly outdated, and we appreciate you pointing it out. We'll make sure it gets reviewed and updated to reflect the current verification process.

To clarify: when verifying your Microsoft Advertising account as a business, submitting website documentation is now a required step. This helps confirm that your business has registered rights to the domain you're enrolling.

According to the latest guidance on our Microsoft Advertising Help page, here’s what’s needed under Website documents:

The documents must be current, with expiration dates at least two months from today.

They must list a domain that’s an exact match to the one you're enrolling.

They should include your company’s name and address, matching the legal business information you’ve provided.

Accepted types of website documents include:

    Domain purchase invoices

    Domain purchase records

We appreciate your attention to detail and your patience as we work to keep all documentation aligned with the latest process.

Our support teams are pleased to engage in more in-depth discussions about your account through phone, chat, or email to offer review assistance, please see our support page to reach out!

I trust that the details shared here will partially address your inquiry. Should you have any further questions, feel free to contact our support or call as directly at 1-800-415-5238. Additionally, I’ve sent you a private message and please don’t hesitate to reply if you require further assistance.

    Kind regards,
