Dear @Pamela H,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Based on your description, you were in a meeting last night and your laptop froze, causing you to leave the meeting and miss vital parts. I’m sorry for the experience you faced. To better understand your situation, could you confirm which version of Teams you used last night (web version or desktop app)? Also, did your laptop experience the same issue again after the meeting ended?
Because, as you described, it’s likely caused by resource spikes (CPU/GPU/RAM) on your device, video effects, or unstable Wi-Fi.
In the meantime, you can check the Teams side first by following the steps below to prevent this from happening again (if the issue comes from Teams).
- Update Teams and GPU drivers.
- Clear Teams cache (close Teams first):
- Windows:
C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams\> delete foldersCache,GPUCache,tmp.
- Windows:
- Close heavy applications (Excel, browsers with many tabs) before the meeting.
- Disable Art Mode/SmartThings on Samsung TV to reduce network interference.
I'm looking forward to your update to understand more about your situation and can support you more effective.
I hope information above helpful, if you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out.
