Here’s what you can try: since you haven’t opened the file, that’s already a good step. First, open Windows Security and check Protection History to see if OperaGXSetup.exe was quarantined or removed, if so, it’s safely contained. Next, go to your Downloads folder and delete the file manually if it’s still visible, then empty your Recycle Bin so it’s fully cleared. After that, run a Microsoft Defender Offline scan from Scan options to catch any hidden threats that might remain before Windows loads. Finally, use Disk Cleanup to remove leftover temporary or downloaded files, which helps prevent Defender from repeatedly detecting the same item.
