How to view some pinned apps in start menu to view it in all apps?

I created a "System Restore" shortcut to my desktop and pinned it to the start menu.

I can see it under "pinned apps" but it does not appear under the "all apps" view.

Also, W11 does not allow me to drag it from the "pinned apps" view to the "all apps" view.

Is this possible in W11?

    Hey there,

I completely get why you’d want that shortcut to show up in the “All apps” list, it makes things easier to find in one place. The thing is, Windows 11 keeps “Pinned” apps and “All apps” separate.

The pinned section only shows items you manually add, while the “All apps” view is built from specific system folders.

That’s why your custom System Restore shortcut doesn’t appear there automatically. To fix it, just copy your shortcut from the desktop and paste it into this folder: %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs.

After that, check the Start menu again, it should now appear alphabetically in “All apps.”

Just to confirm, are you using the default Windows 11 Start layout, or do you have a custom Start layout or third-party menu app installed?

That’ll help me make sure the steps line up exactly with your setup.

     Regards, Aron
