To anyone experiencing this on Tahoe: Please report to Microsoft using Help> Feedback in the Excel menu. Compatibility issues are often present when early releases of new operating systems are adopted.

If expeiencing the problem on any other version of macOS please start a new thread stating all particulars.

FWIW I'm running 16.102.1 on Sequoia 13.7.1 without any such issue. The Format> Cells dialog launches instantly in any workbook file.

The Offoce 16.102.2 update now is available to the Current Channel. It has corrected a number of UI issues imposed by Tahoe, perhaps that will improve this as well.

    Hi Alan,

Thank you for responding, I am here to help you.

Possible cause of the problem is conflicting add-ins, corrupted settings, or an overloaded Excel cache.

Try this steps to help fix the problem:

Check the latest updates for Microsoft 365.

    Disable and Re enable Add-ins

Open Excel app on Windows then click File and choose Options. Click on add-ins Select COM Add-ins, and click Go. Clear all the check boxes in the list, and click OK. Reopen Excel app on Windows check if there is any improvement.

Are you using the locally installed desktop software or the online web app?

Are your flavor of macOS & Office fully updated? Please provide present Version Numbers of both.
