Fabric Data Agent REST API: How to work with Data Agent Chat History?

Hello! I am using Microsoft Fabric AI Agent in a workspace with Fabric Capacity enabled. Through the Fabric interface, I can see the chat history with the agent, but I need to get this data programmatically—through an API or other mechanism.

I already use POST /workspaces/{workspaceId}/agents/{agentId}/chat to send messages, and I know about the context parameter, but it does not extract the history automatically.

❓ Is there an official API endpoint for getting chat history (e.g., /logs, /metrics, or something else)?
❓ What permissions do I need to add to App Registration in Azure to access the history?
❓ Is it possible to get the history for Service Principal, or do I need to use User Principal?

I would appreciate any examples, documentation, or advice!

    Hello Oleksandr Zhuk

Thank you for posting your question on the Microsoft Q&A forum. I appreciate you reaching out and sharing the details of your scenario.

While I’d love to assist, this forum may not be the most suitable place for support on Microsoft Fabric Data Agent. For better visibility and engagement with Fabric experts, I recommend posting your question on the Microsoft Fabric Community

Additionally, if your issue involves authentication or permissions, you might consider raising a support ticket through the Microsoft Entra ID portal or the Power Platform admin portal. These channels will connect you with the right specialists and help you receive faster, more targeted support.

Thank you again for your contribution and for taking the time to share your question with the community.
