Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Based on your description, MS Teams won’t fully launch and only flashes in Task Manager although you have reinstalled, cleared cache, repaired/reset, and updated Windows but it still persists.
Try these steps again:
- If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon in the taskbar, and then select Quit.
- Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows logo key
+R. - In the Run dialog box, enter %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams, and then select OK.
- Delete all files and folders in the %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams directory.
- Restart Teams.
If it still does not work. Here are some suggestions you can try as steps below:
A. Fully quit Teams & kill background processes
- Close Teams if any window shows.
- Open Task Manager > Details tab > End task for anything named:
-
ms-teams.exe,Teams.exe,TeamsBootstrapper.exe,MSTeams.exe -
msedgewebview2.exe(Edge WebView2 host)
-
- If Teams keeps re-spawning, sign out of Windows once and sign back in
B. Remove all Teams app folders
For the new Teams (MSIX / Microsoft Store):
- Delete these folders if present:
-
C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe-
C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams-
C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams
-
-
-
For the classic Teams (EXE):
- Delete:
-
C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams -
C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams
-
- Also delete:
-
C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\SquirrelTemp(if it exists)
-
C. One-time new profile test
Create a new local Windows user, sign in, install Teams, and launch.
- If it launches there, the issue is within your original profile
