After adding a custom domain binding the SSL takes forever, it says there is a duplicate certificate but this certificate don't exist anywhere at all. The domain is an app service domain.

    Hi,

In your App Service, navigate to Settings > Certificates. Check both of these tabs:

    • Managed certificates
    • Bring your own certificates

Please confirm there are no certificates here for your domain.

It looks like you're attempting to use App Service Managed Certificates. What method are you using to verify ownership of your domain?

    Hi Stephen SAPALO ,
    Check for Pending Certificates:

    • In the Azure Portal, go to App Service → TLS/SSL Settings → Private Key Certificates (.pfx) and Public Certificates (.cer).
    • Look for any certificate with a “Pending” status for the same domain.
    • Remove Stale Certificates:
      • If you find any stuck or duplicate entries, delete them.
      • If nothing appears in the portal, you may need to use Azure CLI or PowerShell to check the certificate resources directly in your resource group.
      Example (Azure CLI):
az webapp config ssl list --resource-group <your-resource-group>

If you see a certificate for ins-wpdev.com, remove it with:
        az webapp config ssl delete --resource-group <your-resource-group> --certificate-thumbprint <thumbprint>

      • Once all pending certificates are removed, try re-adding the App Service Managed Certificate for your custom domain.
You can mark it 'Accept Answer' if this helped you
      Regards,
      Vishvani
