Windows 10 Password Issues

I have two Windows 10 PCs that have coincidentally stopped accepting the login password in the past week or so. Both are running on local accounts. I have tried several methods for resetting pw or logging in as admin - nothing works. Is this related to the end of life for Windows 10? I thought Win10 would still work - just wouldn't get updates/support.
