After updating to the latest office build Version 2509 (Build 19231.20216). OneNote is not showing meeting details from Outlook. I have uninstalled/re-installed the office suite, tested on multiple computers, and the issue still persists. Cleared the OneNote cache folder, amongst other troubleshooting steps that have been posted in other forums.

I understand that this feature was removed in OneNote for Windows 10 however, I am using the 365 version of OneNote. Both OneNote and Outlook are on the same version 2509 (Build 19231.20216)

Hello, I'm from the OneNote team. I apologize for this issue - our team is aware of it, and a fix has been made and will be available in a future update to Office.

Thank you for the reply, here are the answers to your question!

    • Are you signed into both Outlook and OneNote using the same account? Is it a personal account (e.g., @hotmail.com, @outlook.com, @gmail.com) or a work/school account managed by your organization?

Yes, I am using the same account for both Outlook and OneNote. It is a work/school account managed by your organization.

    • Are you using the New Outlook or the Classic Outlook interface?

    Using the Classic Outlook interface

    • Have you tried using the Outlook Web App (OWA) to see if the issue persists there?

    Yes, issue still persists

    • Is your calendar hosted on Exchange, or is it connected to a third-party service like Google or iCloud?

    Hosted on Exchange

    • Does the issue affect all meetings, or only specific types (e.g., recurring meetings, Teams meetings, or external invites)?

    It affects all meetings

    • Can you describe the behavior in more detail? For example:
      • Is the “Insert Meeting Details” button visible and clickable in OneNote?
Yes, it is clickable in OneNote, also am able to make a new group on the ribbon and add the buttons to the group.
      • Do you receive any error messages when attempting to use the feature?
No error messages, just shows that "there are no meetings today" when in fact there are meetings in my/other user's calendars.
      • Have you tested inserting meeting details from a different calendar or user profile?
Yes, I have tried using a regular user's profile/calendar as well as mine and my administrator profile/calendar.
      • Have you tried using an earlier Office build to see if the issue is specific to Version 2509 (Build 19231.20216)?
Yes, the versions I have tried are as follows: Version 2509 (Build 19231.20194) - does not work
      Version 2502 (Build 18526.20634) - does work
      Version 2208 (Build 15601.20538) - does work
      • Lastly, could you share which troubleshooting steps you've already tried?
      Un-installed/re-installed the office suite
Installed with clean image on multiple computers
Installed with different versions as answered above
      cleared OneNote cache folder
Tested with multiple users as answered above

    Hi @Zachary Levi,

Thank you for your effort and the detailed response.

Following a thorough review of your situation, this issue presents as a complex case potentially linked to OneNote Version 2509 (Build 19231.20216). Given the nature of the problem and the extensive troubleshooting you've already completed, the most effective next step is to submit a support request through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. This route ensures that a Microsoft support engineer can initiate a remote session to investigate backend configurations, run advanced diagnostic tools, and, if necessary, escalate the case to specialized teams with access to internal systems and logs. These backend resources are essential for resolving issues that go beyond what’s visible in the user interface.

Note: As community moderators, we’re here to guide you, but due to privacy and security limitations, we don’t have access to the backend tools required for a full resolution. For this reason, contacting Microsoft Support via the Admin Center is the most secure and efficient way forward.

I sincerely recommend you create a support ticket from Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Support > Help & Support.

Please follow this article for more information: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn.

Due to your confirmation, for a temporary workaround, you can revert to a previous version of OneNote to continue using this feature.

I genuinely appreciate your understanding and patience throughout this process. Should you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out at any time.

I look forward to hearing from you.
