Open MS Teams on startup using Task Scheduler

MS Teams does not open at PC startup anymore. The MS Teams GUI does not appear and MS Teams is absent in the background apps.

MS Teams is in installed in Windows 11.

On MS Teams the Open Teams at startup option is enabled. If I disable it, the situation remains the same.

I tried to enable MS Teams on the startup programs in the Task Manager. Even if MS Teams is enabled, it does not open.

I tried to put MS Teams icon the the shell:startup folder. The issue persists.

I'm trying to solve the issue using Task Scheduler. I'd like to create a base task who starts at PC boot.

I'm struggling to find the correct MS Teams folder path who points diretly to the MS Teams executable. If I try to locate the MS Teams executable using Task Manager (go to processes, then on MS Teams, right click, open file location) I land on a folder relative to a specific MS Teams version; that means MS Teams executable will change its path once it will update itself.

I'm also trying the command:

C:\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\Update.exe --processStart "Teams.exe"

But if I open the Task Manager minutes after the PC startup, on the task who opens MS Teams I receive the error message 0x41303.

I need support to fix this Task Manager issue.

Alternatively, feel free to suggest me an alternative and reliable way to make MS Teams open automatically.

    Hi @Ishtar Terra,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I truly appreciate the detailed information you’ve provided. Based on what you’ve shared, I’d like to suggest the following steps:

    Method 1: Reset the App

Note: When you reset the Teams app, all app data will be deleted, including any personal settings you’ve configured.

    1. Type Settings in the search box, then select the Settings app from the results.
    2. Go to Apps > Installed apps, then type Microsoft Teams in the search box.
    3. Find New Microsoft Teams in the results, click the More options (...) button on the right, and select Advanced options.
    4. Under Reset, click Reset.
    5. Restart Teams.

You can refer to the following document: https://free.blessedness.top/en-us/troubleshoot/microsoftteams/teams-administration/clear-teams-cache

    Method 2: Delete the Files

    1. If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon on the taskbar and select Quit.
    2. Open the Run dialog by pressing Windows logo key + R.
    3. In the Run dialog, enter the following path and click OK: %userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams
    4. Delete all files and folders in this directory.
    5. Restart Teams.

You can refer to the following document: https://free.blessedness.top/en-us/troubleshoot/microsoftteams/teams-administration/clear-teams-cache

Method 3: Use Microsoft’s Online Repair Feature

    1. Right-click the Start button (bottom-left corner) and select Installed apps from the pop-up menu.
    2. Find the Microsoft 365 or Office product you want to repair, click the three dots (...) and select Modify.

Note: This action will repair the entire Office suite, even if you only want to fix one app like Word or Excel. If you installed a standalone app, search for it by name.

    1. Depending on your Microsoft 365 or Office installation type (Click-to-Run or MSI-based), you’ll see the following options to proceed:
    • Click-to-Run: In the How would you like to repair your Microsoft 365 and Office Programs window, select Online Repair > Repair to ensure everything is fixed. (Quick Repair is also available but only detects and replaces corrupted files.)
    • MSI-based: In the Change your installation window, select Repair and click Continue.

You can refer to the following document:https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b#id0ebd=windows_11

If you have any updates regarding the issue, or any other questions, please feel free to share them with me. I will support you.
