    Dear Faizan Afzal

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I understand you're seeing your purchased copy of ilomilo plus from 2012 showing up as a trial version. That is certainly an unexpected incident, especially when your save data is still there! This usually happens when the Microsoft Store license validation on your PC temporarily disconnects from your Microsoft Account, where your full license is recorded.

To tailor the best steps for your setup, could you let me know:

    • Are you on Windows 10 or Windows 11?
    • Is the game installed via the Microsoft Store, Xbox app, or another method?
    • Does it show "No applicable licenses found" or a similar prompt when launching?

In the meantime, you can try my suggestions and please keep me updated with anything news that you are trying:

    • Press Windows Key + R > Type wsreset.exe and hit Enter > A black window will appear, close automatically, and then open the Microsoft Store > Once the Store opens, restart your PC and check the game again.
    • Open the Microsoft Store app > Click your profile icon (top right) > Sign out > Sign back in with the same Microsoft account you used in 2012 > Launch ilomilo plus to check if it unlocks.
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security (Win 10) or System > Troubleshoot (Win 11) > Other troubleshooters > Find "Windows Store Apps" > Run it. It’ll scan and fix common license sync problems
    • Uninstall ilomilo plus via Settings > Apps > Apps & features (search for it) > Head to the Microsoft Store, search for "ilomilo plus," > reinstall—it should detect your ownership automatically > Sign in to sync your 2012 saves

Disclaimer: At this point, we have exhausted all troubleshooting, and I recommend that we try to perform a clean install to get your computer back into a working condition. Please ensure that you backup any important data, including Documents, Pictures, Videos, and more.

Please keep me updated with anything new that you were try to each option.
