I have access to MS Learn through my university and I can access the materials to learn for the certifications. I want to do the Certified Data Scientist associate certification but I want to know if I do it with my university account do I still need to pay? When I graduate, do I lose the certification when I leave the university? Should I do it via my personal email address and somehow link that to my university email?

2025-10-21T08:48:46.17+00:00 Certifications are permanently tied to your Microsoft Certification Profile (MCID), not to your Learn account or university access.
This is incorrect, Certification profiles were merged with Learn profiles in summer of 2024. MCIDs are no longer used and all certifications are now tied to your Learn profile.

Go to your Learn profile settings and add your personal account:- Navigate to your Learn Profile: https://free.blessedness.top/users/me
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select "Settings".
- Under the "Account management" section, you will see your linked accounts.
- Click "Add account" and sign in with your personal Microsoft account to link it.
