I'm using Siemens PG M6 laptop. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8850H CPU @ 2.60GHz (2.59 GHz), 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, Windows 11 Enterprise, 25H2, OS build 26200.6899, Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.253.0 It is special PC for programing Siemens PLCs and HMI panels. After last update built keyboard (PS/2) is not working properly. The keys work with a significant delay. I have tried all the methods I know to fix the problem, such as reinstalling the driver, changing the i8042prt.sys driver key value from 3 to 1, etc. I am furious because once again Windows update prevents me from using my computer. I use my computer for work, so this is additionally irritating. Please help me solve this problem.

    Hello,

You are correct that this behavior points to a driver conflict, especially after an update. Since you have already tried the standard driver reinstall and the i8042prt registry edit, it's likely that Windows Update has pushed a specific driver that is not fully compatible with your system's hardware.

Let's try to manually re-apply the most basic, generic driver, which often resolves these specific input lag issues.

Solution: Forcing the Standard PS/2 Driver Re-installation

Open Device Manager: Press the Windows Key + R, type devmgmt.msc, and press Enter.

Locate Your Keyboard: Expand the "Keyboards" section.

Update Driver: Right-click on your keyboard device (it might be "Standard PS/2 Keyboard" or a Siemens-specific name) and select "Update driver".

Browse Manually: Choose the option "Browse my computer for drivers".

Pick from a List: On the next screen, click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer".

Select the Driver: You should see a list of compatible drivers. Select "Standard PS/2 Keyboard" from the model list (even if it's already the one selected) and click "Next".

Restart: Windows will reinstall the driver. After it finishes, please restart your computer and test the keyboard.

This process forces Windows to discard any problematic driver files and use the clean, built-in generic driver, which should resolve the delay.

If this fails, I would also recommend checking the Siemens support portal for your specific PG M6 model to see if they have released a new Windows 11 (25H2) chipset or HMI driver package.

I hope this helps you get back to work without further delay. If this answer was helpful, please feel free to hit "Accept Answer" to help others in the community! 😊
