Every time I search for weather using Microsoft Edge browser it has a default location that is different than my town. How can I correct that problem?

    Hi!

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

That’s a common annoyance in Microsoft Edge, especially when the weather card or widget keeps showing the wrong town.

    Please follow these steps one-by-one.

Step 1: Set your weather location directly in Edge

    • Open a new tab in Edge.

On the news feed (Microsoft Start) page at the bottom, you’ll see a Weather card.

Hover your mouse over it and click the three dots (…) or “Customize”.

    Choose Edit location.

Type your city/town name and pin it as your default location.

    Click Save.

After this, the weather shown in the new tab and search bar should match your chosen city.

Step 2: Fix weather in Bing search results

When you type “weather” in the Edge address bar, it uses Bing’s location settings. To fix this:

    • Go to https://www.bing.com/
    • Click the menu (☰) at the top-right → Settings → Personalization.
    • Under Default location, click Change.
    • Enter your desired city and Save.

You will need a Microsoft account logged in.

Let me know once done so I can assist you further.
