I have been playing NBA 2K26 since 9/5/2025. It has been crashing to desktop whenever I play online matches. The game will shutter and freeze for 5 seconds then crash straight back to desktop without any error msg.

I sent a 2K support ticket and it didn't help much, then they ask me to contact Microsoft.

This is what I found when the game crashed, Event viewer will pop up this msg:

File System Filter 'EasyAntiCheat_EOSSys' (Version 10.0, ‎2025‎-‎10‎-‎03T20:24:50.000000000Z) unloaded successfully.

I am just wondering how to prevent this from happening again. Thank you !

    Hello YJC,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. It's my pleasure to help you today.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your game keeps crashing whenever you try to play online. The log in the event viewer usually refers to the application shutting down, not of any issues. However, here is a few steps for you to fix it.

    1. Repair the apps.
      • Go to Settings > Apps > Select the affected game.
      • Click "Advanced options" > Repair
      • Try to play online again.
    2. Reinstall the game
      • Uninstall the game using the apps Settings or the game launcher options.
      • Reinstall the game and try again.
    3. Run SFC scan.
      • Type "Command Prompt" in the search bar and press Enter.
      • Type in this command and press Enter: sfc /scannow
      • Restart your PC when it's done.
    4. Update and change BIOS settings. If you are going to modify BIOS Settings, please back up all your personal files first to ensure you do not lose data.
      • If the crash happened with no error code or any specific event in the Event view. It could point to a cause in which the OS cannot control over, which is the BIOS.
      • Go to the BIOS (The details instruction depends on the manufacturer)
      • If you are overclocking or any settings is incorrect. You can lower them and try again. You can also restore default settings if needed.
      • Turn off fast boot and/or fast startup and try again.
      • Update your BIOS (some BIOS will include that option in the BIOS menu, if your don't, please download the latest version in the manufacturer website.
