Hello Microsoft,

I have just updated to Windows 11 and my Windows Security no longer works. Every other feature seems to work normally.

I have tried:

  • SFC /scannow + other command prompts copy and pastes. SFC /scannow always told me that there is no file corruption.
  • Repairing + Resetting inside the System --> App --> System Components --> Advanced Options.
  • Restarting my computer numerous times after implementing attempted fixes.
  • Restarting the security service through services.msc.

Please help me, Microsoft community. I have exhausted almost every single option that I could find on this issue.

I have attached a screenshot of what I encounter down below. It stays on this screen for like 10-20 seconds, then just closes away and disappears on its own:Screenshot 2025-10-18 080443

    Try to re-register Windows Security.

Execute this command in Windows PowerShell:

    Add-AppxPackage -Register -DisableDevelopmentMode "C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.SecHealthUI_cw5n1h2txyewy\AppXManifest.xml"

To analyze the issue, please download defender_diag.bat

Right-click on the downloaded file, click Properties, select "Unblock" (if it exits), and OK. Then, run the enclosed batch file as an administrator.

Note: I'm the author of that batch file. It doesn't modify anything on your system. Here's the VirusTotal analysis for the file: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/url/2536a7ed1ed0cd7680b9717cfe67ac54ecf62abe5ec62e05747a90e2ad931208
