bitlocker password recovery needs 30 days

Hi, my laptop is locked by BitLocker. I can log into my Microsoft account, but 2FA is tied to my phone which was not recived once i requested. I switched authentication to my email, however Microsoft says recovery codes will only be available after one month. Can IT help me retrieve the BitLocker recovery key sooner or provide an alternate way to unlock the device?

    Based on your description, it seems that you've changed your Security Information in your Microsoft account.

    According to the Microsoft article below, if you have removed all of your previous security information and replace it with something new, your account will be put into the restricted state for 30 days and Microsoft cannot expedite the process.

    If you don't want to wait 30 days, your only option is to do a clean installation of Windows 10 from a USB bootable installation media and use it to reinstall Windows. However, this process will delete all data stored on your HDD.
