Hi Amir Farahani, I know how frustrating it is when your backup fails with error 0x80070002 especially when it’s trying to back up folders that don’t even exist anymore.
This error means Windows Backup is trying to include folders like C:\Users\amird\Music and Videos, but those paths are missing or were moved.
First, go to Control Panel > Backup and Restore (Windows 7), click “Set up backup” or “Change settings,” and choose “Let me choose.” Uncheck the folders that no longer exist—like Music or Videos under your user profile and save the changes.
Second, if you want to keep those folders in the backup, open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Users\amird. Right-click and create new folders named Music and Videos. Then run the backup again.
Third, if Windows Backup keeps failing, consider switching to File History. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Backup, click “Add a drive,” and turn on File History. It’s more reliable for personal files and doesn’t rely on legacy folder structures.
Let me know how it goes. If this helps, please mark the answer as accepted so others can find it easily.
Best,
Carl
