Dear joewdunbar
Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A Forum.
The text indicates an incident where a trial period automatically converted into a paid annual subscription upon its expiration.
Here is the procedure for you to cancel your plan:
- Go to account.microsoft.com/services and log in with the account tied to your subscription > Locate "Plus Annual - 169.99" under Services & subscriptions > Select "Manage" next to it > choose "Cancel subscription" > Choose the option to turn off recurring billing to prevent future charges.
After the cancellation, you can request a refund:
- Return to account.microsoft.com/services
- If the subscription is eligible for a refund, you may see an option to "Request a refund" immediately after cancellation.
- If the refund option isn't available, or if you want to confirm eligibility, use the Microsoft Virtual Agent or Contact Support page.
Disclaimer: The above is the normal process for canceling and requesting a refund for all types of subscriptions from your Microsoft customer account for Microsoft products. Therefore, if it is not a Microsoft product, Microsoft will not be able to support a refund. In addition, Microsoft products that have been paid for will not support refunds for legitimate reasons. Therefore, we hope you can send the information as soon as possible so that the Microsoft team can review. Act soon, as refund windows (e.g., 7-30 days post-renewal) vary by region.
